It is such a pleasure to meet you. Let me introduce myself: I’m Miriam, but you can also call me Miya (米娅). Definitely, I like to call myself and be called a world citizen but, in legal terms, I am a Spanish citizen. I’m in my twenties. I was born and brought up in a small village of Catalonia and have stayed there for most of my life.
I had been living in other cities in Spain or abroad because of studies or work. Actually, I had been living in China for a couple of years being a student and an English teacher. I love the nomadic lifestyle.
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page“Saint Augustine
One of my aims in life is to learn as many languages as possible. Nowadays I can speak Catalan and Spanish due to I am bilingual. Additionally, I am a fluent English speaker. And I can even also speak a bit of German and Chinese.
Another aim is to be able to travel around the world: new experiences, new places, and new culture. Let’s get rid of those social and cultural stigmas together! Travel is knowledge. Personally, to travel is a way to open your mind, a way to learn. And, honestly, knowledge is the best cure against ignorance.
I love photography and reading and writing, so this is a good opportunity to express myself and share my skills. Finally, I would like to quote John Lennon with a song that marks a milestone in my life: “You may say I am a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you will join us and the world will live as one”
I hope you have a nice trip reading my stories! See you there
